In 1976 Don Lawrence quit on
The Trigan Empire and started working for the Dutch Publishershouse
Oberon. He was hired to create a new comicstrip that would be the
eyecather of the new weekly comicmagazine Eppo. Unfortunally the
first attempt was a complete dissaster and after starting all over
again there was succes. Storm was born!
The series of Storm can be devided into two parts: The Cronicles
of the Deep World and The Cronicles of Pandarve. May the cronicles
of the Deep World be without almost no structure or direction were
the story was going to, the cronicles of Pandarve, written by Martin
Lodewijk had a perfect setting for Storm and Ember’s adventures.
After twentyfive years Don was responsible for 22 stories in which
he has shown all his talent, imagination and craftmenship. He finished
the series with an incredible trilogy on which he has worked with
Martin Lodewijk over ten years. After this masterpiece he tried
to create a spin-off with he former assistant Liam Sharp, but unfortunally
then never really got around with it.
